Balzers Cryo Pump

by ulihuber@[EMAIL PROTECTED] (Uli) Sep 22, 2004 at 01:29 PM

Hi all,

I found a Balzers UC 010-504-1 Helium compressor on a scrapyard.

As I have no usage for ultra low temperatures, I wonder if this
compressor can be used to provide nice clean pressurized air for my
workshop.

But I have no idea about the internals of this sealed compressor. With
5 kW power consumption it looks like a screw type, but when powered up
it has a sound comparable to a big refrigerator. There is external
tubing with small diameter which could be a oil circuit. In one of the
small tubes there is a shut off valve.

Now my questions:
- Is there a website of Balzers ? I could not find anything through
google.
- Does anyone have a manual for this compressor and is willing to make
me a copy ?
- Does anybody know more about the compressor assembly and operation
and can give me a hint what to to ?

Thank you in advance !
Uli
