Use of NIST Statistical Test Suite

by Erica <enunez@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Dec 11, 2007 at 07:43 AM

Hello everyone,

I've started to do some research on RNGs and test suites for them.

I began with DieHard, and now I'm trying the NIST Statistical Test
Suite.

So far, I'm having some questions regarding the "number of bit streams
generated" and the "length of bit streams" required values. I've
performed several tests, with different values, but it never gives me
conclusive results.

Also, I'm thinking that I could be having a problem with the input
data file, if it is "bits in ascii format" or "hexa in binary format",
how the information should be presented (one value per line, or one
right after the other), etc.

I couldn't find any basic manual or anything that explains these
matters.

If anyone could point me in the right direction, I will be most
grateful :-)

Thanks in advance,
- Erica.
