TeX question for cryptographers

by Usenet poster <look@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Aug 31, 2007 at 02:32 PM

Hi,

I need to typeset (latex2e) a series of articles containing very large
numbers that don't fit on any-sized line. They typically have 300 to 1000
decimal digits. This is within the range of numbers commonly used in
cryptography, hence the posting here.

What I'm looking for is a (preferably math mode) macro to typeset them in
a
convenient and readable way, something like:
                                                      | <-- right margin
                                    x = 123 1234567890
1234567890 1234567890 1234567890 1234567890 1234567890
1234567890 1234567890 1234567890 1234567890 1234567890

The splitting at every 10 digits (from the right) seem appropriate in such
case. The "x = " part can be any formula.

I know this has already been done, since I've read articles using such
formatting. I just can't remember which article/author. Someone on a tex
group offered me a handcrafted almost complete solution, but I wonder
whether something more standard and polished is available.

Thank everyone for any help or pointer.
