I'm sorry but I cannot believe that self-determination is at the core of 
this problem. russia is a major influence in the two regions and is itself

trying to claim S. Ossetia and Abkhazia as it's own. Russia as a 
peacekeeping force has did it's job. the world now recognizes there is a 
problem here and want's to help resolve it. If russia *as a peacekeeper*
was 
truly wanting self determination for S Ossetia and Abkhazia than they
should 
leave the regions all together and leave them with their self
determination.

Georgia and the rest of the world needs to recognize the regions as
seeking 
independence and work to assist them in gaining such. However i would bet 
that if you removed the russian influence we would find that the Ossetians

and Abkhazians are mearly pawns bieng used by russia for their own agenda.
